The fourth MS216D stakeholder review meeting was held on August 22nd, 2017 at the Minnesota Department of Transportation facility in St. Cloud, MN. Subgroups continued ongoing discussions of the following topics:

1. Definition of Excavation
2. 48-hour Notification
3. Boundary Surveys

Proposed language changes have been developed for some of these topics and were shared at the latest meeting for all to consider. Continue reading to see these changes.

On August 1st-3rd, 2017, Gopher State One Call (GSOC) exhibited at the 36th Annual Minnesota Farmfest. Recognized as the fourth largest outdoor agriculture tradeshow in the U.S. by Trade Show News Network, Farmfest connects thousands of attendees with top producing farmers, industry-leading manufacturers, and suppliers. The three-day event consisted of various networking opportunities, demonstrations, and exhibits.

GSOC Has a New App!

Excavators, homeowners, and facility operators can use the Gopher State One Call (GSOC) app to easily and quickly manage locate requests. Anyone planning to excavate in Minnesota can use the app to initiate, manage and monitor a locate request prior to excavation. Facility operators can use the ticket management feature to provide a positive response to excavators.

Use the app to:

• Submit Locate Requests. Log in to ISITE for access to all of GSOC’s online tools such as IMAP, Locator Ticket Management, and ITIC.
• View the positive response history and an on-line worksite map through Ticket Search.
• Find and view previously submitted tickets with Ticket Search.
• Access a Resource Center with links to the GSOC handbook, excavator guide, color codes and instructional videos. View and share these items with the click of a button.
• Get the latest News and Events announcements from GSOC.

2017 Day of the Dozers

Save the date for the fifth-annual Day of the Dozers on September 30^th, 2017! This unique family-friendly event was created to raise money for the Children’s Hospital and Clinics of Minnesota. As the main attraction, children get to sit in the cabs of giant bulldozers, excavators, dump trucks, and skid steers and run the equipment with a licensed operator. A large culvert maze, variety of games, safety demos, prize giveaways, equipment simulators, and food round out the event. This year will include more equipment, gate entries, vendors, and activities than ever before! Attendees can also purchase a $1 raffle ticket for a chance to win construction toys. Gopher State One Call (GSOC), a Minnesota Common Ground Alliance (MNCGA) participant, is proud to be a key sponsor of this year’s event.
